5 Cookies & Tracking Technologies

Our app and associated web services use the following tracking technologies:

• Firebase Analytics — collects anonymous usage events, session data, and device information to help us understand how the app is used
• Firebase Crashlytics — collects crash logs and device state to help us fix bugs
• Google AdMob SDK — may use device advertising identifiers and contextual signals to serve ads. Personalized ads require your explicit consent
• Firebase Performance Monitoring — collects app performance traces
• SharedPreferences / Hive (local storage) — stores user preferences, cached data, and learning progress locally on your device

For our web properties, standard cookies may be used for session management and analytics. You can control cookies through your browser settings.

6 Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored securely using Google Firebase services (hosted in the United States), which provide enterprise-grade security including:

• Encryption in transit (TLS/SSL) and at rest
• Firestore security rules restricting data access
• Firebase Authentication for identity management
• Firebase App Check for API abuse prevention

For users in the EEA/UK: data is transferred to the United States under Google's standard contractual clauses (SCCs) and data processing terms. Google LLC is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

8 Advertising

Free-tier users may see ads served by Google AdMob. AdMob may use device identifiers and usage data to serve ads.

Personalized ads are only shown if you provide explicit consent through the consent dialog presented when you first use the app. You can change your consent at any time in the app's Settings.

Non-personalized ads are shown if you decline consent. These ads are based on contextual information (such as the content you are viewing) rather than your personal data.

Premium subscribers do not see any ads.

You can also opt out of personalized advertising through:

• Android: Settings > Google > Ads > Opt out of Ads Personalization
• iOS: Settings > Privacy > Tracking > Disable tracking for this app

9 AI Tutor & Automated Processing

Our AI Tutor feature uses Google Vertex AI to provide personalized explanations and learning assistance. When you use this feature:

• Your questions are sent to Google's Vertex AI API for processing
• Responses are cached locally on your device for faster access
• Google processes this data under their Vertex AI data governance terms — your data is not used to train Google's models
• No automated decisions with legal effects are made based on AI processing

10 Children's Privacy

Nurse Tips Review & Quiz is designed for nursing students and professionals (typically 17+). We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA). If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us for immediate removal.

All users have the right to:

• Access your personal data
• Update your profile information
• Delete your account and all associated data
• Export your learning progress data
• Opt out of personalized advertising

12 Data Retention

We retain your data as long as your account is active. When you delete your account:

• Personal data is removed within 30 days
• Community messages may be anonymized rather than deleted to preserve conversation context
• Anonymous, aggregated analytics data may be retained indefinitely
• Backup copies are purged within 90 days

13 International Data Transfers

Your data may be transferred to and processed in the United States and other countries where our service providers operate. For transfers from the EEA/UK, we rely on:

• EU-US Data Privacy Framework (for US-based providers certified under the framework)
• Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) approved by the European Commission
